Is this a joke?!

Okay... I love Les Mis and I love Anne Hathaway, but WHAT is this? The idea of turning the infamous musical into a movie is not half bad, but let's stop Anne from singing and convince her to do more movies with Meryl Streep. Any thoughts?

And on another entertainment note, is anyone watching The Bachelorette? WHAT. IS. UP. WITH. THAT. Emily is no doubt a sweet and pretty southern gal, but she loves West Virginia and literally has not one entertaining bone in her body. I guess I'm talking about it, so the producers are doing something right, but all in all it's once again one of the more awkward shows I've ever seen. How about when whats-his-face who already had a rose gave her this 19 page letter and some other sad guy had to just stand there and listen to her read the whole thing. HAH. I swore after the season with Ben I would stop, but friends keep asking me my opinion and I need some ammo. I would love your input on this.

Onto more important things... I finally saw Hunger Games! AMAZING. Now Jennifer Lawrence is where it's at. And Lenny Kravitz? Did not see that one coming. Just finished the second book and can't wait to pick up the third. I know I'm behind the ball on this, but I couldn't not mention it.

10 Winners for the Summer Wardrobe

A small collection of what I am loving right now... the list is constantly growing, but here is a collection of 10 items to explore and maybe add to your closet. So happy for nice weather! YES!
ONE... Sunglasses by Carven x Collette, limited edition. Find them here. The best part... they flip open. Amazing. I also love the translucent feature and this color blue is lovely!

TWO... Amazing number from one of my favorite online boutiques, Esther. They are always getting new pieces in so check it often. I'm loving this dress for the color and geometric pattern. Wear it for cocktails or a day wedding. Less is more with this one... Find this dress, along with many more stellar finds here.

THREE... A pretzel float can be part of your summer wardrobe, right? I mean, why not? I had to post this because I am a fat kid at heart and a cocktail would go pretty well with this. Find it here to be the coolest kid at the pool.

FOUR... Boat shoes have gotten really fun these days. I have grown up around them all my life... standard brown with the sole purpose of not scuffing up the boat. Now, we can sport them with a sundress or jean shorts and a flowy top without looking homely. I love these two options, but there are so many more here to satisfy any outfit.

FIVE... I am addicted to bathing suits. I live in them all summer and love to find sexy styles that are also comfortable. This crochet number adds a lot of interest and texture, but seems like it could handle some beach volleyball. I love the black too because it isn't too trendy and will look good even if you don't get too tan. Like me. Find it here.

SIX... Raglan sleeve number from Emerson. Love this because it proves you can look sophisticated and classic while sporting a baseball tee. We love Emerson and she has so much more to love on her site. This is a shirt that will never go out of style and will be worn over and over.

SEVEN...  I am a sucker for turquoise and the bohemian vibe. This intricate ring/bracelet combination from Etsy is the best of both worlds. See it here.

EIGHT...  Kimono leather clutch from Grace Design, one of my favorite Etsy shops. Colorful fabric and mixed materials makes for a statement piece that is easily wearable with any summer outfit. Find it here.

NINE...  Friendship bracelets have been brought to the next level with colorful, ocean inspired pieces by The Ropes, made in Maine. Visit the site here to check them out. The bright color combinations are so much fun and I love the hardware.

TEN...  Ultimate fedora. Loving the color combination and knotted detail. I would sport this every day. Find this hat and more options to shade from the sun in style, here.

And there you have it... many more Summer options to come! Until then, get outside and enjoy the long days. Cheers, K

This is awesome.

My dad just sent me this video and I think it's fantastic. Not only for the pretzel in the beginning, but for the tourists trying to figure this thing out. It was filmed at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich where my dad "had a few and danced to the umpah band".  I can only imagine... Cheers!

On the want list...

A new pair of shoes has moved to the top of my list: Schier Shoes handmade in Swakopmund, Namibia.

The story is as cool as the kicks seem comfy... Eight gentleman make 20 pairs each day, by hand, using no nails in the process. The shoes are individually crafted from wild kudu leather, one of a kind and made to last.

House Project: Front Gate

Along with our small ranch we have a gate... yes a gate. It was the entrance to the Shawondasee mansion in 1904, which still exists, but now has a different driveway. I remember driving past our house several times when we were first looking at it, because the grande entrance seems like it should go with a different house. Either way, we love it and decided to brighten it up yesterday with some tedious scraping and a new coat of paint. Seven hours and a bottle of wine later it looks really pretty and we plan on closing it for our next party and making Palmer's cousin be our bouncer and work the gate for the evening... just because. Take a look at the transformation...
